Since 1993, Scott Christie, Ph.D. has been working as a licensed therapist to help people find greater inner peace and increased satisfaction in their lives. His continued emphasis is to actively enrich the emotional and relational resiliency of his clients in whatever situation exists.

 

Dr. Christie published Taming the Volcano to further support individuals struggling to better understand and manage anger and emotional reactivity in their relationships.

Specializations

 

To best support my clients, I am trained and experienced in a several therapeutic approaches. I specialize in helping those seeking help with anger management, anxiety, addiction and substance use, chronic relapse, codependency, coping skills, dual diagnosis, grief, life decisions, men's issues, internal conflict, life transitions, couple counseling, marital and family counseling, parenting and stress.

Education, Licensure and Professional Activities

 

I received my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Oregon State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Oregon), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (Washington State), and an active Member of the American Psychological Association.​

From 2012 to 2016, I was appointed by the Oregon Governor to serve as a member and chair of the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.
